Grants
The Woodcraft Folk
The Woodcraft Folk (an activity and educational club for children) started in 1925 in South East London. There are now about 500 groups meeting around the country. Our local group meets weekly (on Tuesday evening) at Balgowan School, Beckenham. The group has approximately 50 members, divided into three age groups; 6-9 years (Elfins), 10-12 years Pioneers) and 13-15 years (Venturers).
The children enjoy a varied weekly programme including games, drama, craftwork, singing and dancing. Hiking, hostelling and camping are also undertaken at weekends or during the Summer (including participation in the Global Village Youth Festival).
