Who We Are

give2give is an established local charity which is registered with the Charity Commission. We are also registered with Companies House as a company limited by guarantee. We are required to make annual returns to both these bodies.

We have a Board of Trustees whose role it is to oversee the charity and make sure it is operating effectively and within the law, and adhering to its aims and objectives of helping the local community through its activities. The Board provides strategic direction, makes key decisions, and ensures good financial, risk and operational management. The day- to- day running of the charity is delegated to the Chief Executive, Gail Devries, supported by the Senior Management Team.

The Board consists of five trustees who are;

Peter Berry, Chair

Peter retired in 2006 from a career spanning 35 years in the City’s financial sector. He is married with two children and has lived in Bromley for more than 40 years.He has undertaken voluntary work for the past 15years which began with his involvement with Broomleigh Housing association where he became chairman in 2009. He has also undertaken voluntary work in social housing in East London. He is excited by his appointment as Chair of give2give and hopes that he can use his financial skills to assist the charity to move forward and grow.

Alan Fairfax

Alan retired from the hustle and bustle of professional life just before his 65th birthday. He worked as a volunteer for give2give for 18 months so has a good working knowledge of the charity. He volunteers 2 days a week at the Princess Royal Hospital and is also Branch Chairman and Welfare Vice Chairman of the Petts Wood Branch of the Royal British Legion. Alan has also travelled extensively and is a Travel Writer and Advisor for ‘Silver Travel Advisor’ specialising in cruise holidays. Alan has a commitment to charitable work and would like everyone to: Think Charity – Think give2give.

Carole Harden

Carole is a local resident living in Orpington. She has been an HR Director for a number of well- known organisations including Warner Bros. Laura Ashley, Thales Aerospace, Transport for London, and HMRC. She has significant board level experience to share with give2give on both
people and operational issues.

Robert Evans

After 27 years as a geophysicist in the oil exploration industry, Bob made a career change into the charity sector and has worked in fundraising and resourcing for the homeless charity Crisis for most of the past 12 years. This included 6 years as the manager responsible for acquiring, and managing the logistics of, the resources for the Crisis Open Christmas event for homeless people. Bob has volunteered for a number of charities, including Crisis, for over 30 years.

Jo Stickings

Business development has been a key feature of Jo’s career over the last 20 years, having been instrumental in the sale of two leading advertising agencies in both central London and Liverpool. She has led, developed and motivated teams of professional staff in the development and delivery of high standards of service. In 2006 Jo started her own business and marketing consultancy and works with owner- managed businesses across a range of sectors. Jo will use her business and marketing skills to aid the continued growth of give2give.

The Board meets four times a year including its Annual General Meeting to approve the Directors Report and Annual Accounts.
