Alzheimer’s Society Bromley Branch

The Alzheimer’s Society was formed in 1979 on the initiative of a Bromley resident, Cora Phillips MBE, and the formation of the Bromley Branch, at White Gables Bromley Common, followed shortly afterwards.

The White Gables Day Centre is open six days each week and provides day care for people with dementia in a secure environment with a homely atmosphere and pleasant surroundings. This enables their carers to have a much needed worry-free break from their caring responsibilities.

Caring for someone who is confused and forgetful can often lead to feelings of stress and isolation. With the help of a £1,000 donation from give2give the partners and carers of the Alzheimer sufferers will enjoy a number of day trips and outings throughout the next 12 months. These trips will include a matinee theatre outing, coach trips with lunch in the country and visits to local garden centres.
