Here are some of the things we are working on for the future:
We are working on establishing a community food growing project within the Borough. As part of the project we hope to be able to provide food growing areas in schools (e.g. raised beds, compost bins, polytunnels, sheds etc).
We plan to start a Resource Sharing Scheme for local community groups and charities whereby groups have FREE access to a central pool of equipment (e.g. tents, cooking equipment, marquees, transport etc).
We are working with Bromley Council to explore ideas for setting up further re-use projects. For example, paint re-use. Last year 400 million litres of paint (retail and trade) were sold in the UK. Of this, it is estimated that approximately 56 million litres were unused and sent to landfill sites!
We are researching and developing ideas for a new Social Enterprise with the aim of creating employment opportunities for local people with special needs and hopefully raising funds for local good causes.
