There are approximately 1200 people with a learning disability living in the Borough of Bromley. Bromley Mencap has been active for over 50 years and has been the instigator of many advancements in the care of people with learning disabilities in the Borough. Mencap provide advice & support, respite for older parents/carers, summer activity schemes for young people, a childminding network, employment services, advocacy and representation. People with a learning disability vary enormously in their abilities, interests and lifestyles. What they have in common though is a greater than average difficulty in learning, plus problems in acquiring social skills.

give2give was delighted to donate £1,500 to Bromley Mencap to enable it to run keep fit classes for local people over 18 with a learning disability. What a great way to make friends, socialise and stay healthy! Between 25-30 people attended each of the 15 classes held at Bromley Town Church.
