ICARE Stroke Day Centre Trust
A stroke is an illness in which part of the brain is suddenly severely damaged. The effect can be devastating to the victim and all concerned. ICARE is a small friendly day centre based in Green Street Green. It offers rehabilitation and support to those who have suffered a stroke, and advice and a period of respite to their carers.
The centre welcomes 20 clients each day, providing a lively interactive programme of activities, with an emphasis on speech and communication skills, practical activities and hobbies, mobility improvement, career support, social activities and relaxation therapies.
Improvements to ICARE services and facilities are only made possible by donations and the generously of local organisations. give2give has donated £1,200 to enable the centre to purchase some much needed equipment to make visits easier and more enjoyable for clients (e.g. specialised seating and foot stool, garden table and umbrella, a wheelchair and floor games).
