Glebe School

give2give donated £1,500 to Glebe School in Hawes Lane, West Wickham to help their year 10 and 11 students to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh Award (DOE) Scheme for 2005/2006. The students, all with learning difficulties, were encouraged to gain their bronze or silver award. The school organised two trips to Snowdon (in July and October 2005), during which the students completed a 20 mile trek over 2 days.

The achievement of a DOE Award promotes self confidence and personal pride through hard work, commitment and team work. All of the students passed the expedition leg of their Duke of Edinburgh Award. Congratulations!

Our donation will also be used to fund further camping trips and outdoor pursuits planned for 2006 for younger students, this includes the purchase of essential wet weather clothes and other outdoor equipment needed to help the students enjoy learning camp-craft.
