Gift Aid

Gift Aid is very important to give2give as we can reclaim some of the tax already paid on donated items. This extra money helps us to support local people in need across Bromley.  We currently claim Gift Aid on furniture donations and we are planning to introduce it in our charity shops soon. Please help us do more by making a Gift Aid declaration.

What is Gift Aid?

If you are a UK tax payer, your income may be taxed by the government. The Gift Aid scheme means charities can claim back any tax already paid on furniture and cash donations. Currently, the Gift Aid amount set by HM Revenue & Customs is 25%. This means for every £1 you donate, we can claim an additional 25p back from the government at no additional cost to you. This raises extra income which we use to support good causes across Bromley.

How does Gift Aid work?

When you donate furniture or other items we will sell them on your behalf and the proceeds of the sale can be donated to us under Gift Aid. To help us to claim Gift Aid on your donated items we will ask you to make a Gift Aid declaration in writing using our Gift Aid form. We will need your name, full address, email address (if you have one), telephone number,  and a signature to confirm you are a UK tax payer.

We claim Gift Aid once we have sold your donated furniture and we have your consent to make the claim. This is a HMRC requirement that we must follow for the claim to be valid. All personal information will be kept securely. Please ask a member of staff for our Gift Aid form and you can leave your completed form securely at the desk. Rest assured the information you give us will be held securely in accordance with Data Protection requirements.

Donating

Money – as well as donating items, you can also support our charitable work by making a one-off donation or set up a regular cash donation by standing order or direct debit. Please ask for details about this either in our shops or by calling 01689 638141.

Please consider using Gift Aid to support our work.
