Friends of Jubilee Country Park
The Friends of Jubilee Country Park started in September 2003. Since then the friends group has grown from strength to strength, with local people involved in wildlife monitoring, practical conservation tasks, and keeping a watchful eye over the site (in Petts Wood). The group has achieved so much in such a short time;
Hedge laying (providing a new habitat for mammals, insects & birds), woodland thinning, clearing vegetation, deepening ponds, installing nest boxes for birds, cutting hay, mending and replacing fences, digging ditches for wildlife, signposting nature trails, building board walks and installing notice boards etc. In October 2004 the group won a truly well deserved prize in the Bromley in Bloom awards for being the most innovative rural friends group.
