Recycle your unwanted car

give2give is asking the public to crunch their old cars for cash as part of a novel fund-raising scheme run by the Giveacar social enterprise.

This is a simple and effective way of raising funds to help local good causes as well as reducing the amount of unwanted or unused cars that are around.

Unwanted cars are collected free-of-charge by Giveacar and either sold through an online auction, or disposed of in an environmentally friendly way at an Authorised Treatment Facility.  Proceeds from the sale are donated to give2give or another charity of the donor’s choice, with ‘bangers’ that are scrapped still netting between £40 and £160 for the chosen cause.

give2give, an established Bromley charity, is the latest of hundreds of charities who have recognised the potential of this new scheme.  give2give is a leading re-use and recycling charity which raises funds fom the sale of donated items to support local communiy groups and people in need across Bromley.

The scheme aims to discourage owners who may consider abandoning their cars, which both spoil the local environment and cost money when they are removed and disposed of.

Alex Harvey, Manager of Giveacar, welcomed the partnership saying:

We are very happy to show our support for give2give, who embrace many of the values that we do – reduce, reuse, recycle – with the aim of improving lives in the community. Brilliant.
