Bromley Advocacy Alliance

Bromley Advocacy Alliance is a local charity which has been operating in Bromley since 1998. The charity represent members of our society who need someone to speak up for them when because of old age, dementia or other disabilities they are unable to speak up for themselves. The Alliance operates a dementia advocacy support service and a community and care homes advocacy service.

These services are provided by 20 or more trained volunteers who assist people in care homes, visit people in their own homes and/or visit people in hospital. The problems that the advocates deal with are varied. For example, explaining options regarding care at home, assisting with care home choices, ensuring hospital patients receive sufficient food and information regarding their treatment.

Bromley Advocacy Advice also has three professional advocates who sort out the most difficult cases and train, support and organise the volunteer advocates. give2give was pleased to be able to donate £1,500 to the Alliance to help it continue its good work with vulnerable adults in Bromley.
